Winner of two awards at the 2024 Rocky Mountain Pinball Showdown! 2nd Place Best Restoration and 3rd Place Best 80’s Pin! Over 150 pins from all eras were in the competition.

Here's a rundown of the new parts. Everything else got fixed and/or rebuilt and polished along the way:

  • CPR Playfield

  • CPR Backglass

  • CPR Plastics

  • Comet LEDs

  • All PCBs repaired, re-capped and bullet-proofed

  • Fuse protection added for bridge rectifiers

  • Extensively damaged cabinet repaired and repainted

  • Pinball Pimp cabinet stencils

  • New ground braiding run throughout the cabinet, plus new power cord, and line filter

  • New side rails

  • New legs with leg protectors and leg levelers

  • New speaker with custom "Flash" logo decal

  • New playfield rails by Ibis

  • Reproduction cabinet tech labels

  • Reproduction apron and shooter gauge decals

  • Custom apron card set

  • New drop targets and decals

  • New spinner decal

  • New cabinet credit and flipper buttons

  • Coin door disassembled, cleaned/polished, and rebuilt with new pricing plates. Working coin mechs!

  • Drop target assembly PCBs converted to NMP boards with magnetic sensors for more accuracy and ease of maintenance

  • Flippers rebuilt using Williams 1990’s era assemblies for reliability and power

  • Custom pop bumper caps with a more legible reproduction Flash logo

  • New rubbers

  • Magnetic Reed Sensors for star rollovers (replacing physical leaf switches) for more accuracy and ease of maintenance

  • Rollover leaf switches converted to microswitches for more accuracy and ease of maintenance

  • All OEM metal cleaned and polished

  • Wire harness thoroughly cleaned and de-funked

  • Molex connectors added to drop target assemblies for quick removal/reinsertion when repair is needed

All in all, there are about 130 hours into this restoration. This 45 year machine now plays better and faster than it ever did, it’s more reliable and safer than it ever was, and it looks like it just came off the assembly line.
