1976 Bally Night Rider EM

Final

Here’s a video of some gameplay. You can also rewind the video to the beginning and get a walk-thru of the restoration.

And she’s done! Very happy with the end results. I took this pin to the 2023 Rocky Mountain Pinball Showdown and it won the following awards against 200+ other pinball machines:

  • 1st Place: Best Restoration

  • 1st Place: Best Electro Mechanical

  • 1st Place: Best in Show

Here's a rundown of the new parts. Everything else got fixed and/or rebuilt and polished along the way:

  • Comet LEDs

  • CPR Playfield

  • CPR Plastic Set

  • Rail Set by Ibis

  • Legs x4

  • Leg Brackets, Bolts, and Protectors

  • Side Rails

  • Glass Channels x2

  • Lockdown Bar Receiver

  • Drop Targets

  • Playfield Posts

  • Apron Decal Set

  • Spinner Decal Set

  • Pinball Pimp Stencil

  • Rubber Set

  • Flipper Rebuild Parts including new bats

  • Pop Bumper Rebuild Parts including new caps

  • Leaf Switches

  • Lamp Sockets

  • Power Cord

  • T-Nuts & Screws

  • Misc Coils

  • All Coil Sleeves

All in all, there are about 120 hours into this restoration spread across 36 weeks. There were several interruptions along the way either with family priorities or weather related (all of the cabinet restoration was done outside in the driveway).

It was well worth it. This is one of the most satisfying restorations I’ve done to date. And it plays super fast, especially for an EM.
