1978 Bally Black Jack SS

Final

Here is a video of gameplay on the finished pin:

This Black Jack is now a good looking and reliable machine. The playfield protector also makes it a bit faster action than most Black Jacks. Here's a rundown of the new parts / improvements. Everything else got fixed and/or rebuilt and polished along the way:

  • All PCBs repaired, re-capped and bullet-proofed

  • Comet LEDs

  • Cabinet repaired and repainted with Pinball Pimp cabinet stencils

  • New ground braiding run throughout the cabinet, plus new power cord

  • New legs, leg levelers, bolts, and screws

  • Reproduction cabinet tech labels and apron decals

  • New flipper buttons, pop bumper cabs, and pop bumper skirts

  • Coin door disassembled, cleaned/polished, and rebuilt with new pricing plates and decals.

  • New rubbers

All in all, there are about 60 hours into the restoration of this machine with most of that time spent on the cabinet repair and re-paint. Check out the gameplay video with the custom ruleset. With the original code, if the dealer beats you nothing “bad” happens. With the new code, if the dealer beats you the game plays a “sad” tune and your score is actually decremented by 5000 points! Totally changes the game strategy!
